Subscapularis

This muscle is usually tight on most people, therefore stretching it along with the pectoralis major will help counteract the slumped, forward-shoulder posture.

  1. Client is supine. With client’s elbow bent, abduct the humerus and rotate the arm so that the palm is up.
  2. Push down on the forearm with one hand and push up on the humerus with your other hand from below so that the shoulder joint is being moved into external (lateral) rotation.
